Sure, being green is popular these days, but we’re motivated by other factors—mainly our love for children and our excitement about what the future will bring.

Our commitment to the environment is expressed in a variety of ways—from making smart choices when it comes to choosing materials and processes, to designing products that are simple, flexible, and durable (and, therefore, won’t end up in a landfill). It’s all about doing more with less.

Fifteen years ago, HÅG was an environmental pioneer in the furniture industry, placing the environment on the top of its corporate agenda. It was, for instance, the first furniture manufacturer to receive ISO 14001 certification, and the first office seating manufacturer in the world to have all its products ISO certified.

By 1995, HÅG had already started using recycled car bumpers, salad containers and ketchup bottles for the plastic seating components. HÅG also contributes to the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions by purchasing 100% of its electricity from windmill producers. In other words, HÅG has become a beacon, leading the industry into a new environmental era.
